Toys R Us Guide for Differently Abled Children

Toys ‘R Us has released their guide for differently-abled children.  For nearly 20 years they have published an easy-to-use resource featuring specially selected toys that encourage play for children with physical, cognitive or developmental disabilities.
The complimentary guide, available in-store and online offers qualified toy recommendations based on research from the National Lekotek Center, a nonprofit organization that evaluates all of the toys featured in the guide.
Instead of categorizing toys by age, they’re classified by skill.  Each toy is assigned at least to two skills categories.  Categories include tactile, self-esteem, creativity, social skills and more.
This is a great resource for ALL parents because it can help you discover the right toy for your child’s particular strength or a toy to help them with an area they struggle with.
